Embraer Closing Factory in China

Embraer, ERJ in new York, announced today that it will close its factory in China. The company says that China plans to build its own aircraft and sees Embraer as a competitor. Therefore, no more factory.

The factory built the ERJ-145 model in the factory, a model with a capacity of 60 passengers. Embraer wanted to build a larger plane for 120 passengers, but that is what the Chinese are doing.

President Lula had sent a letter to the Chinese government about the plans and issues and it received no reply.

Cheap sometimes becomes expensive.
