Brazilian GDP Soars 8.9%

The Brazilian Statistics Institute just released the latest Brazilian GDP figures, showing an amazing growth of 8.9% in 1H 2010 versus 2009.

This is the best result since 1996. From June to June (12 months) the growth is now 5.1%.

In Q2 2010 the growth over Q1 of 2010 was 1.2%, also higher than estimates. Q2 2010 over Q2 2009 the figure was 8.8%.

Imports grew by 38.8%, while exports grew by 7.8%.
