Inflation Rates Since 1920, Historical Inflation Data

Here is the updated U.S. inflation data since 1920. Note the negative numbers in 2009 indicating deflation.

You may view it as a Google spreadsheet here. It is a lot of work to compile this data! The percentages are computed based on the CPI-U, Consumer Price Index compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
